What should I do if I suspect fraud?

First things first: PAYLAX ensures that funds are not disbursed or reversed without your consent.

Please keep in mind that in the fewest cases it is actually a fraud. Because alone the willingness to handle the purchase transaction through an escrow service, underlines the seriousness and seriousness of those involved.

If you still assume a fraud, we recommend the following procedure:

  • If not already done, please contact the other party via the chat in your PAYLAX account and describe the problem. You can find the chat in the detail view of the affected escrow payment.
  • Try to find an amicable solution - possibly our price adjustment function will help you here.
  • Should you not reach an agreement, please check your legal steps and talk to a lawyer or the police in this regard.
  • Should the other party not respond to your problem report within 14 days and take a stand, please write to [email protected].

PAYLAX, as a fiduciary, is unable to remotely review complaints and make decisions based on statements made by the parties (buyer or seller) about the outcome of the funds. As escrow agent, we are obligated to be the best interests of both parties and are not authorized to release or repossess users' funds without their consent.

The funds will be held securely in the escrow account until a mutually agreeable settlement is reached. If no agreement is reached among the parties, the only final step is legal recourse. The legal process ensures that a review of the case is carried out to the full extent and that no unjustified decisions can be made by PAYLAX.
